The Cedar Creek Pilot, began as the shopper Athens Review Lake Shopper. It was founded by Dan Dwelle, whose father, Richard, published the Athens Daily Review and several other papers. The Pilot began in May 1971 and in 1973 it changed to a semiweekly. The newspaper’s current owner is Community Newspaper Holdings Inc. and publishes weekly under the Daily Review management.
