The Mart Messenger traces its history to 1901 as the Mart Herald. From 1909-72 the Mart Daily Herald was one of the smallest cities in the United States with a daily newspaper. The Mart Herald ran until 1993. The Mart Texan ran from 1993-2003. In 2003 the Mart Messenger emerged.
